100% of all money raised goes directly to the house.

The house will be run by the staff of The Disability Trust who are highly trained to look after children with disabilities.

Friends of The Trust House

There is an urgent need for centre based short term accommodation (previously called respite care) for children and teenagers with disabilities in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

The Disability Trust and the Friends of The Trust are taking steps towards meeting this unmet need by building an innovative multipurpose facility for children and teenagers with a disability and their families.

The Friends of The Trust are calling upon the Illawarra and Shoalhaven community and local businesses to support our fundraising appeal to help make this much needed house a reality.

The Disability Trust is committed to securing a suitable block of land as soon as possible, commencing the building construction and opening the house in 2017.

The co-location of short stay accommodation (overnight respite care) and therapy services will create a support hub for children and teenagers with a disability to acquire life skills and maximise their potential. The age range for short term accommodation and for holiday/recreational programs will be from 7 to 17 with separation by age groups 7 to 12 years and 12 to 17 years.
